Library Faculty Partnership Program

Faculty Partnership Program

The Faculty Partnership Program (FPP) builds relationships between faculty and librarians in support of our shared mission to educate students and create knowledge. A Librarian Partner is appointed to each academic department and serves as the primary point of contact for information about library services, collections, events, and policies. The FPP provides a framework for Librarian Partners to develop an understanding of departmental needs and goals, and for faculty to increase their knowledge of library services and resources.

Librarian Partners are information experts who collaborate with faculty in their assigned academic departments to advance their scholarship and teaching. Examples of collaboration include:

  • Supporting faculty and students throughout the research lifecycle.
  • Helping faculty and students use information and research technologies.
  • Incorporating information literacy into academic programs at all levels.
  • Designing lesson plans, assignments and learning objects.
  • Advocating for services, collections, and facilities that support departmental/curricular goals.
  • Creating and co-hosting programming, exhibits, and other opportunities for intellectual conversation and ideation within the Library.
