With the support of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ’s Dolan School of Business — ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Egan's three-year full-time program offers the opportunity to earn two master’s degrees at once, preparing students for executive leadership positions in health care.

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University’s Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies is launching a new dual Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration (MSN/MBA) degree program.

Developed by the Egan School with support of the Charles F. Dolan School of Business, the program will provide students with the knowledge and experience required for executive leadership positions in healthcare organizations. This dual degree, the first at ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University, provides registered nurses with the ability to earn two master’s degrees at once, giving them the ability to compete amid the growing employment demand in the healthcare field.

"Strong academic preparation for healthcare leaders has never been more vital than today. The excellence of these two schools at ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University, coupled with the skill acquisition through community partnerships is powerful. The MSN/MBA dual degree can propel nursing leaders to a new career platform," said Sally Gerard, DNP, RN, CNL, CDE, director of the program.

The MSN/MBA curriculum includes 62 credits of curriculum plan that will require students to take courses across a variety of disciplines including accounting, finance, marketing management, pathophysiology, systems leadership, information technology, healthcare economics, practicum, and more. Curriculum plans are flexible and can be arranged in collaboration with the MSN/MBA program director.

Employment opportunities for healthcare administrators are on the rise in the state of Connecticut and in the nation. Egan’s close partnerships with clinical partners and strong alumni network will build career and mentoring opportunities that last a lifetime. Healthcare administrators may be employed in a wide variety of settings, including policy organizations, insurance organizations, healthcare suppliers, and healthcare providers.

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ is accepting applications on a rolling basis this fall and classes begin in the fall of 2020.
