Connecticut Veterinarian Melissa Shapiro, DVM, along with her dog Piglet, will visit the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Downtown Bookstore for an in-person event in front of the store on Post Road.
In the tradition of the beloved New York Times bestsellers Marley and Me and Oogy: The Dog Only a Family Could Love, Piglet tells the story of a charming and inspirational deaf, blind, pink dog. A lifelong animal welfare advocate, mom to three children as well as many disabled rescue dogs and birds, Dr. Shapiro took Piglet in after he was rescued from a hoarding situation. Through empathy, resilience, and kindness, she forged a powerful bond with Piglet, allowing the two to communicate without sound or visual cues.
