Soccer's Gena Pike '23 was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week twice in a row, and field hockey's Zoe Rosen '21 collected consecutive NEC laurels.
A pair of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University goalkeepers have won consecutive weekly awards for their prowess between the posts. Gena Pike '23 earned back-to-back MAAC Defensive Player of the Week nods as the netminder for ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Women’s Soccer, and Zoe Rosen '21 has collected NEC Defensive Player of the Week laurels in two straight weeks for ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Field Hockey.
Pike has started every outing in goal for the Stags; her team enters MAAC play this weekend riding a five-match unbeaten streak. On the season, the junior is 4-2-2 with a 1.34 goals against average and a .714 save percentage. Pike also vacated the game to score the game-tying goal with 20 seconds remaining in regulation of the Stags’ 1-1 draw at crosstown foe Sacred Heart.
Rosen has played all but five minutes of the 2021 season for ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Field Hockey, en route to a 1.44 goals against average and an .824 save percentage. She made a season-high 13 saves against Monmouth in the Stags’ home opener on Sept. 3 and posted a shutout in the road win at Quinnipiac on Sept. 9.
