Summer Sports Camps in Stag Country

Registration is open for a variety of week-long and day sports camps at ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University, including basketball, field hockey, lacrosse, soccer, volleyball, and softball.

Summer is right around the corner and ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University is excited to announce a variety of in-person sports camps for all ages and levels. Camps are run by ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Stag coaches and athletes, and held at facilities and fields on our beautiful campus. The University will be adhering to all local and state health and safety guidelines.

Boys Basketball 

                  

Boys: Grades 2 – 7

Session I           July 5 – 21

Session II          July 12 – 16

Session III         Aug. 1 – 5

Coach Young & his staff will teach the fundamentals of basketball and cover a variety of topics relating to the sport. Campers are split into divisions by age and will compete with other campers of their skill level. Camp will cover all of the requisite skills to improve overall basketball ability. Campers will be challenged, while maintaining a fun learning environment.

Girls Basketball 

                  

Girls: Ages 7 – 16

Session II          Aug. 9 – 13

Joe Frager Basketball camp is a fun-filled, action packed hoops experience! Come join the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Basketball coaches and your favorite Stag players to learn and improve your skills. We will provide fundamental instruction with basketball-specific drills, 5-on-5 full court, daily competitions, shooting, form, rebounding, etc. Join us for a week of fun!

Girls Field Hockey

Girls: Grades K – 12

June 28 – July 1

July 12 –15

Aug. 2 – 5

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Field Hockey is excited to host Invasion Field Hockey Camps this summer! Starting in June, daily training sessions will be available and will be following all Connecticut Covid-19 safety guidelines, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University protocols, and NCAA regulations.  

Boys Lacrosse

Boys: Ages 8 – 15

June 28 – 30

Stags Lacrosse Camp is designed for 3rd through 8th grade players of all levels. We offer a great learning experience that focuses on the fundamentals of the game of lacrosse. Campers will be placed in groups based upon both age and skill level, for first-hand instruction from ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Lacrosse coaches and players. The first half of camp is spent developing the individual player along with team concepts. The second part of camp is dedicated to incorporating skills and concepts learned into games and scrimmage situations.

Sunday, June 13

Grades: High School Sophomores and Juniors

The Stags Experience is a one-day event designed to show high school student-athletes what it's like to practice and play like a ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Stag. Held on ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University's campus in one of college lacrosse's best game-day venues, Rafferty Stadium, Stags Experience is open to any and all entrants. 

The Stags Experience is an opportunity to have personal positional coaching by the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Men’s Lacrosse Coaching Staff as well as gain valuable exposure while scrimmaging against some of the most elite players in the country.

Boys Soccer

Boys: Ages 6 – 14

Session I           July 19 – 23

Session II          July 26 – 30

Session III         Aug. 2 – 6

The object of the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Stags Soccer Camp is to provide fun, instruction, and excitement in a closely supervised and organized environment to enhance development as a soccer player. The key role of the camp is to combine learning and improving basic soccer skills with instruction and games. Position-specific sessions allow all campers to receive coaching advice pertaining to the particular position they play. All campers receive a ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Stags Soccer Camp T-shirt and a ball.

High School or Club Player

One Day: June 12 

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University ID Clinic is designed for the high school or club player looking to take his game to the next level and experience the unique athletic aspects of the collegiate soccer environment. This is also the best opportunity to be evaluated by the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University soccer coaches. The standard of play is high and is always very competitive. This clinic provides extensive tactical and technical training with our staff. Current college players act as counselors for the camp, supporting the coaching staff and interacting with the campers, allowing the campers to learn from their experiences in and around the college game. There is also the opportunity for campers to participate in an Admissions presentation, conducted by the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Admissions Department. 

Girls Soccer

Girls: Ages 6 – 14

Week of: July 12 – 16

Get better this summer at our Connecticut day camp at ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University and train with the staff of the Women's soccer team. We are offering one week in summer 2021 for any girls ages six through 14. This youth sports camp provides the perfect blend of instruction and fun!

Girls and Boys Volleyball

Girls and Boys: Ages 13 – 18

Week of: July 26 – 28

This camp is geared toward individual technical training for all skills. Players will be grouped by age and skill level so that they can compete in a safe and competitive environment. 

Girls and Boys: Ages 13 – 18        *All skill levels

One Day: July 29

This camp is geared towards players wanting to hone their skills in a specific position or skill. Campers choose one position to focus on for the duration of the camp and receive specialized training on the latest techniques.  

Setters Camp: This camp will feature technique-packed training sessions with an emphasis on hand positing, body posture, footwork patterns, release, and decision making.

Attackers Camp: Expect to learn every facet of attacking. Arm-swing work, dynamic approach, ball contact.  Working on transition off the net to a powerful approach with a multi-directional arm.

Libero: This camp will place a major emphasis on body posture, footwork, digging techniques, advanced floor skills, ball handling techniques for serve receive and defense.

Girls and Boys: Ages 15 – 18        * 2-3 years of competitive experience

One Day: July 30

This program is geared towards players who want to play in college and/or would like to be looked at and play for ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Volleyball Program. This camp will be run by Todd Kress (Head Coach) and Melissa Batie-Smoose (Associate Head Coach) and will give you insight into how we run our practices.  

Girls and Boys: Ages 15 – 18        * 2-3 years of competitive experience

One Day: July 31

This program is geared towards players who want to play in college and/or would like to be looked at and play for the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Volleyball program. This camp will be run like our practices are run.  

Girls Softball

Girls: Ages 8 – 18                   *All skill levels.

Week of: July 12 – 15

At the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Nike Softball Camp, players have the opportunity to receive instruction from some of the finest instructors in the Northeast. Directing the camp is ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Softball Head Coach Julie Brzezinksi. Come join the fun at one of our biggest locations! Our goal is to stimulate the passion for softball in young players, provide them time to work on their offensive and defensive skills, improve their technique, and have a blast while doing it! Instruction will focus primarily on: hitting, specific position fielding, base-running, and game situations. In addition, pitchers will have the opportunity to work with pitching instructors.
