Bringing the iconic songs of female music legends to life with her "phenomenal, multirange voice," Ann Hampton Calloway's one-woman show promises to celebrate Diva Power in all its glory.

On Friday, November 13 at 7 p.m., ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University’s Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts will host Ann Hampton Callaway in Diva Power, a soaring celebration of the songs of legendary female artists through the decades.

During this intimate online evening concert at her living room piano, Callaway will perform favorites from the icons whose voices, songs, and careers shaped her own signature artistry: Ella Fitzgerald, Carole King, Etta James, Joni Mitchell, Edith Piaf, and other legends.

Best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the hit Broadway musical Swing! and for writing and singing the theme song to the hit TV series The Nanny, Callaway is a Platinum Award-winning songwriter whose work is featured on seven of Barbra Streisand's albums. She has also written songs with Cole Porter, Carole King, Rolf Lovland, and Amanda McBroom.

As described in The New York Times, Calloway has “a phenomenal, multirange voice that has only grown stronger as she has evolved from a lachrymose piano-bar entertainer with a coloratura register into a blues and jazz powerhouse who sings a roof raising ‘Blues in the Night.’” With her signature blend of jazz and traditional pop vocals, the one-woman-show Diva Power promises to be an evening filled with songs that reflect unique female perspectives on life and love, from some of the most influential female legends of the music industry.
