University Updates Campus Coronavirus Precautions

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University officials continue to work closely with local and state officials to monitor the evolving coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and to adapt preparedness plans accordingly.

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University’s Preparedness Task Force continues to evaluate the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) global outbreak as it relates to the University. In a letter to the community on Wednesday, March 11, President Mark R. Nemec, PhD, announced the following important updates:

  • Students have been strongly advised to return home or stay home following spring break.
  • Classes are moving to online instruction platforms beginning March 16 through March 29.
  • On-campus gatherings of 100 people or more are suspended through March 29.

Administrative offices on campus will remain open. The DiMenna-Nyselius Library, RecPlex, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Art Museum, Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts, and Egan Chapel of St. Ignatius Loyola are closed to the public.

In his letter, Dr. Nemec wrote, “Times like this provide us the opportunity to demonstrate our capacity for change, and our commitment to excellence. We appreciate your continued cooperation and patience while we prepare to provide services under these unique circumstances.”
