In a new study from Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University is a national leader for return on investment (ROI).
A recently published that considers 4,500 colleges and universities by various ROI metrics signals a ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University education has an ever-increasing value. The considers, over a 40-year period, information such as students’ potential income after graduation, graduation rate, and average debt.
According to the report, which uses new data from the expanded College Scorecard — an online database started in 2015 to give more information about colleges — the “findings buttress the idea that college is a worthwhile investment. Moreover, we take the position that college should be seen as a long-term investment.”
¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University leads in the study, appearing in the top one percent of institutions for ROI (#62) and ranking highly for its average alumni earning potential ten years after graduation ($103,000), for a relatively low average debt, and a top graduation rate (82%).
In a state-wide analysis of the report, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ ranks second in Connecticut behind only Yale University (#21). In the 40-year value scoring, the University out-ranks other institutions such as Trinity College, Connecticut College, Wesleyan University, Quinnipiac, the University of Connecticut, and Sacred Heart University. In the region, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ also ranks higher than Amherst College, Boston University, New York University, and Syracuse University.
Among institutions in the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) ranked for ROI, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ comes in fourth and apace with Georgetown University, Santa Clara University, and Boston College. Other AJCU institutions featured in the ranking include College of the Holy Cross, Loyola University Maryland, Marquette University, and the University of San Francisco.
The Georgetown study comes on the heels of the University’s recent ranking in the top 20 percent on the Forbes Top Colleges List and a top-five placement in several statewide rankings from Niche.
