Lewis also set a new ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ — and MAAC — record with 11 three-pointers in Saturday’s road win.

Graduate student Sam Lewis ’20 rewrote the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ women’s basketball record book this past Saturday as the Stags surged to a 76-44 win at Siena. Lewis scored a ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ single-game record 39 points in the Stag’s second straight win over the Saints. She also set a new ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ — and MAAC — single-game record with 11 three-pointers in the contest.

"I'm not sure I'll ever realize that it's real," said Lewis on Saturday night. "I'm still in shock. My phone was going crazy, and I reached out to my parents and they told me how proud of me they are. Those are the first people I talked to after the game, so that's pretty special."

Lewis’s 39 points broke the record of 36 points established by ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Hall of Famer Sabra Wrice ’08, also set against Siena during the 2006-07 season. Her 11 three-pointers shattered the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ record of seven treys in a game, last attained by her former teammate Sam Kramer ’20 in 2017.

"I'm really proud of her," Head Coach Joe Frager said. "She has been a big part of our program in a variety of different roles for us, and she stayed the course. She has been a program kid, and it says a lot about perseverance and what we try to do as a program. She's always been a well-liked member of our team and I'm extremely happy for the success she enjoyed this weekend."

For her weekend efforts, which also included a then-career-high 21 points on Friday, Lewis was named the MAAC Player of the Week and the College Sports Madness National Mid-Major Player of the Week.
