The deadline for waiving/declining student health insurance is Thursday, August 2, 2018.

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University requires that all full-time domestic undergraduate students maintain or purchase a health insurance policy. Under ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University's "hard waiver" program, full time undergraduate domestic students are automatically enrolled (and billed), each July, in its sponsored health insurance policy for the upcoming academic year. A $2,161.00 charge for this policy appears on the domestic student's tuition bill. However, if the domestic student has access to comparable or better health insurance through other means (e.g. parents' coverage), and does not wish to be enrolled in the University sponsored plan, the domestic student must complete an online waiver to provide proof of coverage. Students completing the waiver to decline the University sponsored plan will receive a full credit on their tuition bill.

The deadline for waiving/declining the insurance is August 2, 2018.

Domestic Students:

The online waiver form may be completed by following these steps:

  • Have your health insurance card available
  • Log onto (student NetID and password required)
  • Enter "health insurance waiver" in search tool
  • Click "Student Health Insurance Waiver" icon
  • Complete the form
  • Click submit button on the bottom of the screen

Once your bill is available on the Bursar page (in early July), you will be able to verify that the waiver has been successful:

  • Log onto
  • Search "Online Billing and Payment - Student" and select "Launch"
  • Select "View Current Activity, Fall 2018"

Students will see the initial $2,161.00 charge for the student health insurance plan. Students who have submitted the waiver will see a corresponding $2,161.00 credit. (Note: The credit may take up to two business days after the waiver is submitted to appear on the Fall 2018 activity).

International Students:

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University requires all full-time undergraduate and graduate international students to purchase the University sponsored health insurance policy. The University enrolls each international student in its sponsored health insurance policy for the upcoming academic year. A charge for this policy appears on the student's tuition bill. International (VISA holding students) are enrolled on a mandatory basis and cannot waive coverage.

Domestic students coming from other geographic areas that carry HMO or network-based coverage are strongly encouraged to purchase the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University sponsored plan.
