Men’s Basketball challenges Quinnipiac at Webster Bank Arena, Women’s Basketball hosts Siena on campus
¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Basketball will be in action tomorrow both at Webster Bank Arena and on campus on George Bisacca Court at Alumni Hall as the Stags surge toward the upcoming 2018 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championship. Tickets for both games are on sale now at . Fans that purchase a ticket for the 1 p.m. men’s basketball game may present their ticket at the 5 p.m. women’s game to receive free admission at Alumni Hall.
Admission to both games is free for current ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ students, faculty and staff with a valid StagCard.
Highlighting the day’s action will be Tyler Nelson ’18 shooting for the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Men’s Basketball career scoring record as the Stags host Quinnipiac at Webster Bank Arena at 1 p.m. Nelson reached an even 2,000 career points with his 29 tallies in Thursday evening’s MAAC win over Marist. The senior co-captain of the Stags enters the day six points shy of the 2,006 points accumulated by ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Athletics Hall of Famer Tony George ’86. All fans are encouraged to wear red as a part of the Webster Bank Arena Red Out. The first 300 fans in attendance will receive a red ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Stags t-shirt.
At 5 p.m., action moves on campus at Alumni Hall where ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Women’s Basketball hosts Siena. The Stags are currently in fifth place in the conference standings at 7-7, looking to gain ground on the 9-6 Saints. Saturday’s game features ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ’s Play4Kay fundraiser with all proceeds going to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. The game is also a Lil’ Stags Bring a Friend Night. All Lil’ Stags Club members will receive free youth admission and an additional free youth ticket for a friend.
After this weekend’s action, both teams hit the road before returning home for their respective Senior Day celebrations. ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Men’s Basketball hosts Monmouth at Webster Bank Arena next Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. and ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Women’s Basketball challenges Iona at Alumni Hall on Sunday, Feb. 25 at 2 p.m. to conclude the regular season.
