Art of the Gesù Book Now Available for Purchase

A 600-page volume, The Holy Name. Art of the Gesù: Bernini and his Age, written by distinguished scholars involved in the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Art Museum's exhibition (St. Joseph’s University Press), and edited by Frank and Clara Meditz Director and Chief Curator of the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Art Museum Linda Wolk-Simon, PhD, is now available at the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Bookstore.

The book is the published catalog from the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Art Museum's major international loan exhibition The Holy Name—Art of the Gesù: Bernini and his Age , which is on view now — in its final weeks — at the museum’s Bellarmine Hall Galleries from through May 19, 2018.

Characterized as “the most important book in any language on the art, architecture, and early history of the Gesù,” the publication includes hundreds of gorgeous full-color illustrations of artistic masterpieces and essays by Gauvin Alexander Bailey, Andrew Horn, Christopher M. S. Johns, Evonne Levy, Franco Mormando, Rev. John O’Malley, S.J., Louise Rice, Betsy Rosasco, Xavier F. Salomon, John Beldon Scott, and Linda Wolk-Simon, PhD.
