Rowing Hosts Annual Friends Banquet

On Saturday, February 25 ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Rowing hosted their annual Friends of Athletics Banquet. Over 165 friends, parents, alumni and student-athletes gathered to celebrate the conclusion of the program’s extensive winter training schedule.

The event kicked off with greetings from David Patterson, who is currently in his ninth season as Program Director. “With a great turnout from parents and the best turnout yet from our alums, once again we were able to have a great team celebration” shared Patterson.

“All the student-athletes and coaches know we simply can’t do what we do without the amazing support from our parents who do such a phenomenal job looking after us all at the races. It is exciting and so important to see our alumni population grow and enjoy the notion of coming back to campus for this annual event. While the parents do an amazing job seeing us through the here and now, the long-term stability for the sport of rowing will be the alums sticking together, staying involved and becoming a force to enhance the experience of our future student-athletes.”
