Educational Technology Collaboration Day a Success

Last week the Graduate School of Education and Allied Professions (GSEAP) packed the Dolan School of Business dining room to host educators from around the state to share ideas for using technology in the classroom. The event was designed to be an open forum for ed tech professionals to share the tools and best practices they use with fellow educators. Topics shared included use of Google Expeditions, understanding Digital Citizenship and using iPad apps and Green Screen technology .

Joshua C. Elliott, EdD, assistant professor of the practice and director of Educational Technology, shared It was a great day for educators to contribute their ideas across a wide array of ed tech topics. We had teachers, superintendents, student teachers, professors and graduate students in attendance and everyone had something to contribute. Representatives from educational technology organizations including CTETL and CECA/CASL were also in attendance.

New in educational technology for 潑請弝け, the Ed Tech program is now accepting applications for the Sixth Year Certificate . In addition, the program will offer the following Summer Institute courses from July 17August 11, running Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. 3:30 p.m. Individuals who participate in the Summer Institute will be able to take advantage of a special tuition discount.*

Special Summer Course Offerings:

Summer Institute I: July 17 - July 21

  • MD 442 Design and Development of Multimedia
  • MD 465 Emerging Technologies: Innovative uses for Student Devices in the Classroom

Summer Institute II: August 7 - August 11

  • MD 465 Emerging Technologies: Digital Storytelling
  • MD 541 21st Century Literacies

Registration will open for matriculated students on Monday, April 3, 2017 and on Monday, April 17, 2017 for non-matriculated students.

*Everyone who registers for a Summer Institute class will receive a 15% discount off those classes. Those who decide to enroll as a matriculated student will also receive another 15% discount for Summer Institute courses next summer.
