New Dolan School of Business Building Continues ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ’s Growth of the Modern Campus

Announcement of the $40 million facility comes as the University’s ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Rising Campaign exceeds $160 million goal and extends to new $210 million target.

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University’s Charles F. Dolan School of Business will relocate to a new, world-class academic building scheduled to open Fall 2019.

Breaking ground this spring, the new 80,500 square foot, $40 million facility will feature a simulated financial trading room, big data analytics lab, entrepreneurship center with ideation lab space, visualization and simulation lab, and active learning and case-based classrooms. It will also be home to innovative spaces like a one-button studio and behavioral research lab, as well as the University’s Center for Applied Ethics. These amenities will support the School’s exceptional faculty and strong internship and professional development programs—all backed by an engaged alumni network—that have resulted in 96.7% placement rate for graduates within six months of graduation.

“This new building will exemplify what the Dolan School has become: a leading center for business education, forming students to be ethical leaders for a global future,” said Mark R. Nemec, PhD, president of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University. “It will be the nexus for our students, faculty, and staff, allowing them to collaborate in an environment that rivals the most state-of-the-art facilities for its technology and cutting edge spaces.”

The Dolan School of Business is already one of the highest ranked schools in the country, named by Bloomberg BusinessWeek as one of the United States’ best undergraduate business schools. U.S. News and World Report and CollegeFactual have also ranked it as a top 25 school nationwide for its accounting, finance and marketing disciplines, and it is one of only 5% of schools nationally that are accredited by AACSB International, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. With these accolades and the new facility’s enhancements, the Dolan School of Business’ position is only strengthened as a destination of choice for students seeking business degrees informed by Jesuit values.

The building’s announcement arrives as the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Rising Campaign—the largest capital campaign in the University’s history—has exceeded its initial $160 million target ahead of the projected timeline, and extended the campaign to a new target of $210 million. “We are humbled and honored by the dedication and commitment of our alumni, parents and friends,” Dr. Nemec said. “The extension of the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Rising Campaign ensures that ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ continues its rise as the modern Jesuit Catholic University, building a community animated by innovative teaching and learning, so that we may continue to best serve the world as it is.”

The project joins several other buildings planned or under construction as part of the University’s Master Plan, supported by the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Rising Campaign. Other new facilities include a dormitory; a parking garage; an expansion of the University’s Barone Campus Center, including The Tully Dining Commons; and a new building that will house the nationally ranked Marion Peckham Egan School or Nursing and Health Studies. The University will proceed with the filing of the required applications for local approval of the new school of business later this month.
