Career Planning Hosting a Series of Workshops for Students

This spring, the Career Planning Center will be hosting a series of workshops to prepare students for life after college.  These workshops include everything from resume review to mock interviews to meeting with potential employers.

On February 3, 2016, the Career Planning Center will host “ Resumes for First Year Students” at 12:30 p.m. in the Barone Campus Center, room 200.  This workshop will provide students with tools related to building a resume. 

All ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University sophomores, juniors, and seniors are invited to participate in Mock Interview Day on February 10, 2016. Local employers will be coming to campus to help students improve their overall interview style and skills. Students must upload their resumes to  Stag4Hire in order to register for Mock Interview Day. Participating employers include Bank of America, Barnum Financial Group (an Office of MetLife), Blum, Shapiro & Company, P.C., Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Cramer-Krasselt, Deloitte, Enterprise Holdings Inc, EY, FactSet Research Systems, Inc, KPMG, Merrill Lynch, Nestle Waters North America, Priceline.com, Revelry Agency, Synchonry Financial and XL Caitlin. This event is sponsored by Bank of America.

In addition to Mock Interview Day, the Career Planning Center will be hosting a “ Finding an Internship” workshop on February 17 at 3:00 p.m. in the Kelley Center. This workshop will provide students with tips on how to find an internship using various resources, including Stags4Hire and on-campus recruiting. 

The Career and Internship Fair will be held on February 24, 2016 from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Alumni Hall. This year’s Career Fair includes organizations from various industries ranging from finance to marketing to medical/health to engineering.  This year’s participants include Bigelow Tea Inc., Camuto Group, AMN Healthcare, Deloitte & Touche LLP, Ernst & Young LLP, Goodwill of Western and Northern CT, HamletHub, ICON International, Inc., KPMG LLP, New England Center for Children (NECC), Right Click Recruiting, Terex Corporation, TripBuilder Media Inc., and many more.  For a full listing of participants or Career Fair tips, visit the Career Planning Events & Programs page. 

In addition to the workshops, the Career Planning Center launched InterviewStream to help students prepare for employment inverviews. InterviewStream allows students to practice their interview skills by answering challenging questions. The program records the student as they respond to the questions and lets them review and share their performance post-interview. Visit to learn more and create an account.
