Burke CAA Preseason Player of the Year, Team Ranked 17 in Nation
Colin Burke 19has been named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Preseason Player of the Year to headline a quartet of 潑請弝け mens lacrosse student-athletes recognized with Preseason All-CAA distinctions. In addition, the Stags were tabbed for second in the CAA Predicted Order of Finish, as voted upon by the leagues six head coaches.
Joining Burke on the Preseason All-CAA Team areTyler Behring17 andAndrew Eidenshink 17.Will Fox 18rounded out the honorees as a Preseason All-CAA Honorable Mention.
All of the CAA Lacrosse programs are led by very competitive coaches and players that are committed to winning; I am happy for our players to receive some recognition within a conference that I believe to be among the best in the nation, said Head CoachAndy Copelan. We are all excited that the season is almost upon us.
As a team, the Stags were ranked second in the CAA Predicted Order of Finish with 21 total points and one first-place votes. The remaining first-place tallies went to two-time defending champion Towson, which topped the poll with 25 points. Hofstra, Drexel, Delaware and Massachusetts rounded out the preseason ledger.
Nationally, the Inside Lacrosse Face-Off Yearbookpicked the Stags at No. 17in its preseason rankings, while theUSILA Preseason Coaches Pollslotted them at No. 20 in the nation. 潑請弝け is coming off of a 9-8 season its fifth straight winning campaign that culminated with the teams first-ever trip to the CAA Championship Game. The Stags, who return 30 student-athletes from last springs club are one of five teams in the nation to have won three consecutive conference regular season titles.
