Inspired Writers Series Begins Sept. 23

¼â½ÐÊÓƵ alumni authors are set to appear throughout September during the Inspired Writers Series at the downtown ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Bookstore.

Melissa Tantaquidgeon Zobel will be at the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Bookstore on Wednesday, September 23 at 7 p.m. Zobel will speak on her novel, Wabanaki Blues , the first book of a trilogy in which Mona Lisa LaPierre, a 17-year-old blues musician, moves to New Hampshire and finds much more in store for her than the typical New England lifestyle. Zobel presents a story of suspense, love and sacrifice in this murder mystery novel. Zobel is an alumna of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University’s MFA in Creative Writing Program and is also a citizen of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut. This event is presented by the MFA in Creative Writing.

Stefany Sheehan’s memoir, Elle & Coach: Diabetes, The Fight for My Daughter’s Life and the Dog Who Changed Everything , will be discussed at the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Bookstore on Thursday, September 24 at 7 p.m. This touching work of nonfiction follows the story of a daughter’s fight against diabetes with the help of her loving mother and amazing dog. Sheehan is a ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University alumna and devotes her life to aiding those who suffer from diabetes. This event is presented by the MFA in Creative Writing, the Office of Alumni Relations, the School of Nursing and the Learning for a Lifetime Program.

Baron Wormser’s Unidentified Sighing Objects will be presented at the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Bookstore on Wednesday, September 30 at 7 p.m. Wormser’s 10th collection of poems is written on numerous subjects, from Andy Warhol to jazz music. Celebrate Wormser’s diverse and transcendent poetry presented by the MFA in Creative Writing, the Department of English and the Learning for a Lifetime Program.
