16 New Digital Signage Boards Across Campus

潑請弝け University may be red at heart, but campus is becoming more and more green!

The Marketing and Communication Department has sponsored 16 new digital signage boards across campus in efforts to eliminate traditional print advertising moving the University one step closer to being paperless.

Features of the digital signage boards include digital posters, video, and live media feed streams. Cross-campus media playlists will stream cohesive messaging regarding events, University announcements, and other important messages to students, faculty and staff across campus. The digital signage boards' unique department titles will be customized to target the specific audiences who frequent the location in which they are displayed. For example, the Dolan School of Business digital signage board will feature a real time CNN news ticker, in addition to the general University media feed. There will also be a digital signage board in the downtown bookstore, which will provide an outlet of information for community members at large. In the event of an emergency, Public Safety will be able to override all 16 boards and post critical safety instructions.

Aerva is the content management system used to power the digital signage boards and allows the managers to frequently update content, enabling students to be exposed to the most relevant and current University events daily.

There has been positive feedback from students, faculty and staff upon the instillation of the boards. Amanda Reiss '16, said, I think the digital signage boards are super helpful and are environmentally friendly. They provide a nice and easy way to get the latest news on whats happening on and off campus!

Students should also be checking OrgSync regularly to find information on campus-wide events. Any student-focused event that is displayed on the digital signage boards will also be listed on the events calendar of the OrgSync app as well.
