Mark your calendars: New activities and a free, blowout concert make this year’s Alumni & Family Weekend on October 23-25 an event you won’t want to miss.

Alumni & Family Weekend: It’s a ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ tradition. Every fall, alumni and parents and their families come back to campus. Alumni enjoy mini-reunions with friends and classmates and find out what’s new on campus. Parents and their families come to see how their sons and daughters are doing after a couple months away at college. There is always a variety of fun activities and events for everyone.

There will be alumni favorites, including Taste of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ food trucks, a craft beer garden, and the Glee Club concert. But this year there’s much more on the docket.

New and expanded programming will make the weekend a big splash, as the University publicly launches “¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Rising,” the most comprehensive fundraising effort in ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ’s history.

Campus departments have collaborated to create a unique schedule that offers current students more time to share their experiences with their parents, alumni more chances to network and reconnect, and for everyone to gather together at one culminating, blowout concert.

Together with the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Student Association (FUSA), the University will present a free concert featuring Matt and Kim and The Temptations. “This will be a special year for Alumni & Family Weekend,” said FUSA President Anif McDonald '16. “It will be a full day for alumni and current students to network. Both concert artists are universal and high-profile.”

is an American alternative dance duo from Brooklyn, N.Y., composed of Matt Johnson and Kim Schifino, known for their “do it yourself” attitude toward music.

, arguably one of the most well-known groups in music history, will headline the afternoon’s free festivities. Noted for their success with Motown Records during the 1960s and 1970s, The Temptations continue to perform their hits like "My Girl," and "Ain't Too Proud to Beg," with one living original member, Otis Williams, still in the lineup. Both groups will play on Saturday, October, 24 at Rafferty Stadium.

The whole weekend will be a distinctive way for the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ community to celebrate the University’s proud past while offering a glimpse into a promising future.
