Two Stags Among MAAC Top Five

Men’s basketball sophomore K.J. Rose and women’s basketball junior Kristin Schatzlein both earned a spot in the weekly MAAC Top-5 which highlights the best plays of the week.

K.J. Rose got the number two spot in the rankings with his 70-foot buzzer beating jumper against Monmouth. With the game winding down, Rose unleashed a two-handed shot from three-quarters down the court to beat the buzzer. The shot also landed nationwide on Sportscenter’s Top-10 edition as the number eight play.

The women’s play was more of a team effort. Off a missed shot, the ball bounced towards the top of the key where Kristin Schatzlein would jump, tip the ball into the lane past the defenders and allow an easy layup for Kelsey Carey. It was the second time this season that Schatzlein made the list.

The women’s basketball team traveled to Canisius for an afternoon game this Thursday at 11 am while the men’s team goes to Rider on Thursday at 8 p.m. in a game featured on .
