¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University's 27th Annual ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Awards Dinner will be held on Thursday, March 26th, 2015, at the Grand Hyatt New York in New York City. The dinner benefits The Multicultural Scholarship Fund and has raised more than $14 million since it’s inception in 1988.

This year's Awards Dinner will feature as keynote speaker Tom Llamas, anchor and correspondent for ABC News. A multiple Emmy Award-winner, Llamas has covered historical events including the Boston Marathon bombings, Hurricane Katrina, and the earthquake in Haiti. In 2013 he won an Emmy for “Best Anchor,” and was also part of the WNBC team that won a prestigious Edward R. Murrow award for their breaking coverage of Hurricane Sandy. A graduate of Loyola University in New Orleans, Llamas is passionate about Jesuit education.

The ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Awards Dinner will also recognize alumni, faculty, and staff for the highest levels of professional achievement, outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and meritorious service. The 2015 dinner honorees are:

Alumni Professional Achievement Award, Brian P. Hull ’80, P’13, Chairman of Strategic Clients and Partnerships for the UBS Group – Americas , a leading global wealth management franchise that integrates and finds synergies among the Investment Bank and Global Asset Management divisions. Hull is a member of the Board of Trustees of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University.

Alumni Service Award, Elner L. Morrell ’81, P’03, is an IT Architecture Consultant for UnitedHealth Group, Inc. , a Fortune 100 company that provides a broad spectrum of resources and services to help people achieve improved health and well-being through all stages of life. Morrell has been a member of the ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Board of Trustees since 2002 and an advisory board member for the School of Nursing since 2005. Morrell is a dedicated community volunteer, serving on the board for the Connecticut Community Foundation, which fosters creative partnerships that build rewarding lives, and thriving communities.

Distinguished Faculty/Administrator Award, Mark Reed ’96, ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University Senior Vice President for Administration and Chief of Staff , received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and an MBA from ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University. Reed is a former president of the Jesuit Student Affairs Association (JASPA) and teaches as an adjunct faculty member in the Mathematics Department. Prior to his work in higher education, Reed’s experience includes teaching and administration at the secondary level. He also holds a master’s degree in secondary educational administration from Boston College and a doctorate in higher education management from the University of Pennsylvania.

An exciting addition to the dinner this year is a performance by The Alternate Routes, an alumnus-formed band that has been gaining worldwide attention. Performing together for over 10 years, the group is lead by vocalist Tim Warren ’04 and guitarist Eric Donnelly ’01 with drummer Kurt Leon ’07

Chairs for this year’s awards dinner are Douglas W. Hammond ’86, chairman and CEO of NFP, and Paul J Huston ’82, Chairman of Hudson Ferry Capital.
