Stags Spread Christmas Cheer Around 潑請弝け

What does Lucas the Stag, Santa and Mrs. Claus, the mens and womens tennis teams, and the 潑請弝け University Bookstore have in common? A heaping helping of Christmas spirit!

On Saturday, December 5, the Stags spread holiday cheer across downtown 潑請弝け with a daytime appearance at the Fairfield University Bookstores Holiday Open House, and a nighttime volunteer venture to the annual 潑請弝け Christmas Tree Festival at the Burr Mansion.

Lucas joined Santa and Mrs. Claus at the bookstore, snapping pictures and listening to Christmas wishes from excited visitors. Dressed in his finest 潑請弝け gear, Lucas embodied the holiday (and Stag) spirit.

"Having Lucas as a part of the Holiday Open House program at the bookstore was a great opportunity, said Zach Dayton, Associate Athletic Director. He genuinely loves being a part of the community and bringing smiles to the faces of everyone he meets.

Later that night, the mens and womens tennis teams volunteered at the 潑請弝け Christmas Tree Festival during their Holiday Gala Event. The night was filled with holiday cheer, as wreaths and festive goodies were auctioned to benefit Norwalk Grassroots Tennis, a nonprofit community organization dedicated to improving the lives of youths from broad socio-economic and cultural backgrounds with programs based on the ideals of tennis legend Arthur Ashe.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our tennis program to help with this event, said Jeff Bricker, head coach of the mens and womens tennis teams. Oftentimes, we forget how lucky we are to have the means to learn and love the sport of tennis and its very rewarding to help the sport grow with fantastic organizations like Norwalk Grassroots Tennis.

The Stags will continue to spread their holiday cheer in their upcoming home basketball games. The men are set to take on Wagner on December 17 at Webster Bank Arena, and the lady Stags host Indiana University-Purdue on December 20 at Alumni Hall.
