¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Basketball Hosts MAAC Action This Weekend

The ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ men’s and women’s basketball teams will both host Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) action this weekend. The Stags’ men’s team challenges visiting Rider on Friday at Webster Bank Arena, and the women will contend with perennial MAAC power Marist on Sunday at Alumni Hall.

The men’s basketball team (3-4) had its three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday at MAAC preseason favorite Iona. ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ’s three-game surge included home wins over crosstown rival Sacred Heart and Ivy League contender Columbia as well as an historic 113-74 rout at Maryland-Eastern Shore. The Stags tip-off with Rider is on Friday, Dec. 4 at Webster Bank Arena at 7 p.m.

Women’s basketball (3-2) was also clipped by Iona in its most recent outing, but has forged a strong start to its 2015-16 campaign. The Stags own wins over La Salle, Loyola and Sacred Heart and were tabbed as the favorite in the MAAC Preseason Coaches’ Poll in October. ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ welcomes Marist to campus on Sunday, Dec. 6 with tip-off slated for 2 p.m.
