With National Theatre Live HD broadcasts on the Quick Center’s big screen this season, audiences will be offered the best seat in the house to shows that Londoners can’t even get tickets to. The new season begins with the critically acclaimed, sold-out production of A Streetcar Named Desire starring Gillian Anderson (pictured) from The X-Files . Screening takes place tonight, 7 p.m., Thurs., Sept. 25, 2014.

Each National Theatre Live broadcast is taped in front of a live theatre audience, with cameras carefully positioned throughout the auditorium, giving HD audiences a better-than-front-row seat experience to each show. National Theatre Live perfectly captures in HD the riveting, original, and thoroughly entertaining live productions of a Britain institution, the National Theatre. And for the first time in its history, the National Theatre Live series will include a play performed and filmed on Broadway, the critically acclaimed Of Mice and Men , starring James Franco and Chris O’Dowd.Tickets to all NT Live performances are $25, $20 seniors, $15 children/students

The fastest-selling production in the Young Vic’s history, Tennessee Williams’ timeless masterpiece stars Gillian Anderson ( The X-Files ) as Blanche DuBois, Ben Foster ( Lone Survivor, Kill Your Darlings ) as Stanley and Vanessa Kirby (BBC’s Great Expectations) as Stella.

Medea
Starring Helen McCrory
2 and 7 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 2, 2014
Helen McCrory ( The Last of the Haussmans ) takes the title role in Euripides’ powerful tragedy, in a new version by Ben Power, directed by Carrie Cracknell, with music written by Will Gregory and Alison Goldfrapp.

Frankenstein
Directed by Danny Boyle
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller
2 and 7 p.m., Thurs., Oct. 30, 2014
The production was a sell-out hit at the National Theatre in 2011, and the broadcast has since become an international sensation, experienced by almost half a million people in cinemas around the world. Frankenstein features Benedict Cumberbatch ( 12 Years A Slave, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Sherlock ) and Jonny Lee Miller ( Elementary, Trainspotting, Mansfield Park ) alternating roles as Victor Frankenstein and his creation. Given graphic elements in the production, it is strongly advised that the presentation is not appropriate for ages 15 and under.

Of Mice and Men

Skylight

Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan star in the highly anticipated production of David Hare’s play, directed by Stephen Daldry, broadcast live from London’s West End.
