Students Raise Money for Mothers Against Drunk Driving

With help from the Town of 潑請弝け Police Department, 潑請弝け University seniors living near the beach recently raised more than $1,100 to benefit Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). The Beach Residents Association Group (BRAG) sponsored a Taco Loco food truck fundraiser near the Sea Grape, charging $2 per taco, with every dollar raised going to MADD.

The event was a huge success, said Storm Miller 15, an organizer and Management major in the Dolan School of Business. Lots of students turned out for it as well as neighbors.

MADD works in more than 600 communities across the country, and has more than 1,400 trained victim advocates on call 24/7 to support victims with comfort or legal assistance.

Im completely amazed by the support of the 潑請弝け University student body, said Jennifer R. Owen, walk manager of MADD, in the Connecticut State Office. 潑請弝け University has taken our mission to heart, and is working hard to raise awareness.

This Thursday, November 13, 2014, at 10 a.m., a check presentation will be held in the front lobby of the 潑請弝け Police Department, on Reef Road. Police and MADD officials will be on hand, as well as students and other members of the campus community.

The fundraiser comes in the wake of another service project for the Town. Members of BRAG and additional 潑請弝け University students recently held a beach cleanup with more than two dozen students taking part. Also helping were Karen Donoghue, dean of students; Pejay Lucky, assistant director of residence life; and Ophelie Rowe-Allen, director of residence life.

The 潑請弝け Beach Resident Board (neighbors) were very thankful for our efforts, said Miller. At the end up of the cleanup, we provided a free Super Duper Weenie truck for the entire beach community. I think it was an extremely positive step forward for us.
