Veterans’ Art on Display in Quick Center Lobby

“Your Branches Span the Sky,” featuring the work of about 50 U.S. veterans participating in the Creative Arts Therapies programs at the Veteran’s Administration Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, CT, is on view in the Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts’ Leitao Lobby from Jan. 26 through March 21. An opening reception takes place 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26. The event is free and open to the public.

“Your Branches Span the Sky” is a collaborative art project between the Creative Arts Therapies at the Veteran’s Administration Connecticut Healthcare System and Ƶ University’s Quick Center for the Arts. The project, which also includes an evening of theatre, music and poetry at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 27 in the Wien Experimental Theatre, celebrates the efforts of veterans and their dynamic, life-enhancing work.

The Creative Arts Therapies programs at the VA promote wellness, recovery and resilience through music, fine art, drama and creative writing. Some of the artists in the exhibition and VA art therapists will attend the Jan. 26 opening.
