Meet Monarch of the Month: Megan (Stauffer) Lindley, ’06

Megan (Stauffer) Lindley, Class of 2006 and former Division I tennis player, remains a dedicated supporter and inspiring figure for ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University's athletic community.

Why did you choose to attend ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University?
I chose ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ because I wanted to go to a University with a solid business program and also play D1 tennis. It was also important to me that the team was able to truly compete to win the league and have a chance to go to the NCAA tournament (which we did in my 2004 season). I went on my recruitment trip and had a great time. I knew on that trip that I was committing to ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ and never looked back. The team and coaching staff were so welcoming, the decision was easy!

How are you involved with the University now?
I stay up on the sports teams and try and go to games and matches whenever I can. I usually make it to one match a year. I also donate annually to the Women’s tennis program and join as many Zoom calls and informational sessions as I can.

What inspires you to stay involved with the University?
I want to stay involved because those four years were such a great experience for me, and I hope to enhance the experience of the current athletes.

How do you hope your support will impact the future of ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ University?
I hope to inspire others to join in and donate (in any amount) to the team they played for. It really isn’t about the size of the donation as much as it is about still wanting to be involved and feeling connected enough to want to contribute.

Do you have any advice for fellow ¼â½ÐÊÓƵ Athletics alumni and friends about how to stay involved?
I think it is important to stay in touch with your teammates. It also helps knowing the current players and coaching staff. Life takes over and people get busy and move on. Staying connected takes effort.
